Accessibility Statement
Fruityland Ice Cream Corporation wants everybody to be able to order ice cream from us, online and in person. This statement explains where we are and how to reach us if something does not work for you.
Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA on this website. The site is built with semantic headings, text alternatives for images, keyboard-operable controls, visible focus states, and colour combinations chosen for contrast.
What we have done
- Every page has a clear heading structure and a skip-to-content link.
- Body text is sized to scale with your browser settings and never below 13px, and layout reflows on narrow screens without horizontal scrolling.
- Buttons and form fields are reachable and usable with a keyboard alone, and every form field has a visible label.
- Images that carry meaning have descriptive alternative text; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Animations respect your system's reduced-motion setting.
- We avoid colour alone to communicate something important.
Known limitations
- Photographs of our ice cream are decorative and described briefly rather than in full detail.
- The cart is stored in your browser; if your browser blocks local storage the cart will still work for the current visit but will not be remembered between visits.
- Our paper menus and container labels are printed in plain, high-contrast type, but we do not yet offer them in large print or braille. Ask and we will read anything out to you.
In the shop
The shop entrance is at street level with a standard door width. A staff member will read the menu aloud, describe flavors, or bring items to you at the door if getting in is difficult. Service animals are welcome. If you need a specific accommodation before visiting, call ahead and we will do our best.
