This policy explains what information we collect when you order from Fruityland Ice Cream Corporation, visit this website, or contact us, and what we do with it. We are a small ice cream shop in Chicago, and we keep data collection to the minimum needed to take and deliver an order.
What we collect
- Order details — the items you select, your name, email address, phone number, and for delivery your street address and delivery notes.
- Messages you send us — the content of emails, contact form submissions and phone notes.
- Basic technical data — the pages you visit on our site. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, time, page requested) for security and troubleshooting. We do not run advertising trackers or sell audience data.
How we use it
- To prepare, confirm and deliver your order, and to contact you if something about it needs clarifying.
- To answer questions you send us, and to keep a record of wholesale and catering enquiries.
- To keep the website working and to prevent abuse.
We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Payment information
This website does not accept card payments and does not collect card numbers, expiration dates or security codes. Payment is taken in person at pickup or on delivery, through a card terminal provided by our payment processor. When you pay in person, the card data is handled by that processor and by our bank; we receive only the transaction confirmation and the last four digits of the card on a receipt.
Who we share it with
- Our email provider, which delivers order requests sent through this site to our shop inbox.
- Our web host, which stores the site and its logs.
- Our delivery staff, who see the address and instructions needed to complete a delivery.
- Authorities, only where we are legally required to respond.
We do not transfer your information outside the United States except where our email or hosting provider's infrastructure requires it; those providers are bound by their own contractual safeguards.
Cookies and local storage
We do not set advertising or analytics cookies. The site stores your cart in your own browser's local storage so that it survives a page refresh; it stays on your device and is cleared when you clear your browser data or empty the cart.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for up to 24 months for accounting and tax purposes. Contact enquiries are kept for up to 12 months. Server logs are rotated by our host, typically within 30 days.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you the order and contact information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by writing to Cream@fruitylandscoop.com or calling (773) 555-0139. We will respond within 30 days. If you ask us to delete a record we are required to keep for tax purposes, we will explain what has to stay and for how long.
Children
Our website is intended for adults placing orders. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
